Counseling
As Greenfield’s school counselors, we want to work with you to support your student’s success in all aspects of their school life–academic, social/emotional, and interpersonal. Please reach out to us to have a conversation about how we can help your student!
We work with students in a number of different ways. We teach monthly classroom lessons to all students on a range of social/emotional topics. The Counseling Corner of the Sunday Message contains timely updates on monthly lesson topics. We run small groups for students who may benefit from a more intensive opportunity for social or academic skill development, or for those who share similar experiences that may be helped by counseling, such as grief, anxiety, or changing family structures. Students and families may reach out to us at any time to discuss individual concerns; we work with students on a short-term basis for individual counseling needs.
Our role as school counselors extends beyond the interpersonal and the classroom to include efforts to foster a safe and positive school community at large. We would be glad to share more information or to receive suggestions on these initiatives, which include Promote Respect (anti-bullying), PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), Sources of Strength, and Student Support Teams, among others.
Please reach out to us! Our relationships with students and families are at the heart of everything we do to help create a caring school community at Greenfield!
